After graduating in 1982 I set up my first studio and became a self-employed ceramicist. After enjoying the experience for four years I began to realise that I wanted to work with people and so re-trained to become a Tutor for Deaf Students in Further and Higher Education. Twenty years later and with much teaching and life experience to call on, I restarted making ceramics with a view to exhibiting and selling my work in a serious way. I currently make pots and work with deaf learners at my local college and find both ‘jobs’ give me equal satisfaction.
